This has been an incredibly difficult week for the Graeber family but also one filled with peace and love that only God can bring. Last Tuesday Eric's brother, Jason, went in to see his Doctor with sinus issues and blurred vision. He was sent to the hospital for an MRI then transferred to Tulane Hospital in New Orleans with a possible brain tumor. After several MRIs, catscans, bone tests, blood tests, etc. we still do not have many answers. We know there is a mass in his brain. The doctor in New Orleans told us Friday that it is a malignant, inoperable brain tumor. HOWEVER, several other doctors from Memphis, Jackson, MD Anderson, and Johns Hopkins read the film and feel it may only be an infection that is treatable with antibiotics. We are luckily able to transfer Jason to MD Anderson in Houston, TX Monday morning where he will be in the best possible hands and the Doctors there will know how to treat him. We are all very eager to find out what this mass is and how it can be treated.
Now, on a personal side, I want to ask you all for prayers for Jason, his wife Karem, and their 16 month old little boy Thomas. Jason has an amazing faith in the Lord and his attitude is unreal. Karem is such a strong woman- incredible mother and wife. They know there is a tough battle ahead of them but they are ready to face it head on and know they are not alone. Please put them at the top of your prayer list- prayers for their strength, prayers for the Doctors who will be treating Jason, and prayers for the Graeber family as they set out on this unknown journey. We all know God is good.
