Chapel and Veteran's home

The week before Thanksgiving, Grafton's class recited in chapel and also went to the Veteran's home to perform for the men and women. It was a wonderful experience watching these young children as they shook hands with the people who fought for our freedom and offered them kind smiles and sweet hugs.

At the end of the program, the children sang a song that says, "Thank you, for giving to the Lord....I am a life that was changed. Thank you, for giving to the Lord....I am so glad you gave!"  I have sang this song many, many times, but I never heard it in this context. I teared up as I watched these precious Kindergarteners sing to the elderly men....several generations separating these two....and seeing how the actions and sacrifices of these soldiers effected the lives of these 5 and 6 year olds. It came full circle in that moment and it was precious.
