Today has been a fun day at home for us. We haven't done anything special- played in the playroom a while, made playdough figures while James slept, blew bubbles on the back porch- but both kids have been so happy and so silly all day! Grafton has shared so well with her little brother, and she kept telling me "Let me play with James 5 more minutes!" when I told her it was nap time. Probably the funniest moment of the day came when the kids were on the screened porch: I went inside to grab something and came back out to find that James was gone! I asked Grafton where James went (keep in mind I had been gone a total of 20 seconds!) and she says "Oh! James is outside!" I opened the porch door to find James sitting in the mud with his dirt-filled hands in his mouth! My silly little girl had let James outside and he was living it up, munching on some dirt. If I wasn't frantically trying to clean him off before he ingested more dirt, I would have snapped a picture!
It is days like this that I am so overwhelmed by the joy and love God brings into my life through my family. Grafton's smile lights up my darkest days, and James's laugh is contagious. I love seeing them play together and laugh together. Sometimes I watch them climbing all over each other in bed (their form of cuddling!) and am jealous of the bond they already share. I cannot put into words how much I love these children- what an amazing gift the Lord has given Eric and me. We are truly blessed.
