Now for the story...I had gone to the Doctor on Monday and was praying that he had "worked his magic" to put me into labor like he has in the past. I woke up at 3:45 Tuesday morning with contractions ranging from 10 to 12 minutes apart, and they lasted that way for several hours. I had to force Eric to go on into work, thinking that I could possibly have these contractions for several hours before needing to go to the hospital. Our sweet baby sitter, Jodie, was coming to help me that morning anyway, so I wasn't worried about anything happening with me alone at home with the kids. Well about an hour or so after Eric left the house, the contractions became stronger and were only about 6-8 minutes apart. I called mom and let her know that she would be driving us to Memphis sooner rather than later!! Jodie was such a big help getting diaper bags and snacks together for the kids while I packed some last minute things for the hospital. Mom came and we were out of the driveway at 9:30. By the time I got checked into the hospital around 11:00, I was already 6 cm dilated and my epidural was on its way!! In a matter of a couple hours, I was ready to push, and the Doctor was on his way to deliver our sweet baby girl. With 2 pushes, precious Price entered our world and melted our hearts!
I have prayed and prayed for a "perfect" labor and delivery for so many months. With Grafton taking 27 hours to come into this world and pushing for a good 1 1/2 hours, and James coming fast and barely making it to the hospital, I really didn't know what to expect. This was picture perfect in my opinion. Labor was not nearly as bad as it was with James, I barely had to push for Price to come on out, and my family was able to be there to love on our new addition immediately after she was born! AND my Doctor, Dr Taylor, who delivered ME 31 years ago, finally delivered one of my babies!! It was such a special day, and I would not have changed a thing. The Lord heard our prayers and laid His hand on us throughout the entire experience.
Below are lots and lots of pictures from this blessed day, Price's birthday...
