Happy Birthday to my precious little Grafton! She has been waiting and waiting for her birthday to finally be here, and when they day came she yelled "I am FINALLY the BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!!" We celebrated that morning with birthday donuts, a couple of presents, and lots of singing! James and I took cupcakes to school later that morning, and I got to see her class sing to her and cheer for her. After school, DeeDee came with us for a birthday lunch at Obys, and then we went home for more presents! Mid-afternoon we headed to Memphis for Grafton's birthday dinner of choice- Bennihana of course! Uncle Scott got to meet us there to join in on the celebration too!! After dinner we headed back home and ate birthday cake and opened the rest of Grafton's presents. It was a FULL day of celebrating our sweet girl, and I know she felt very, very special!!
Grafton's four year old year was truly amazing. She learned so much and grew from our precious little girl into such a sweet and fun "big girl." This year she learned how to swim, she learned how to read, she played soccer for the first time, and she was in her first dance recital. She "graduated" from her 3 year old pre-k class and began her first "big girl" school. She began going on play dates without Mommy, and she has had many lunch dates and play dates with friends.
But the best part of this year has been watching Grafton's heart grow so much for the Lord. She has learned so many Bible verses, she sings her church songs all the time, and she says some sweet prayers. Her connection with God and the Holy Spirit is truly inspirational. She tells me that God whispers in her ear and speaks to her heart...and she says she feels Him beside her. A friend of mine said that God chooses some people to use at such an early age, to get in their hearts and work wonders, to make something special happen and do some wonderful things through. I think she has something special, and I am so proud of her and amazed by her. I pray that she continues to listen to the Lord when he speaks to her, and that she continues to share her love for Him with others. He is using her in some amazing ways!
We love our precious Grafton- her big blue eyes, her adorable dimple, her wittiness, her wisdom, her love for life, her big compassionate heart, and her energetic little body. We love her voice that loves to sing, her mind that loves to learn, and her heart that loves to love. She is beautiful inside and out. Happy Birthday, Grafton; we hope this is your best year yet!!
