Eric and I finally got a date night, after a couple months of busy season, and got to celebrate New Years Eve with sweet friends. Before dinner though, we celebrated in style with the kids! We shot off fireworks, did sparklers, dressed up with beads and hats and glasses, and played with lots of noise makers that DeeDee bought us! The kids had a blast!!! What a perfect way to end a fantastic year!
This year has been remarkable- it was filled with lots of great times but a few really hard ones, lots of laughing and playing and a few tears and fights, lots of "firsts" and a couple "lasts," and lots of wonderful memories to carry us through the years. We saw Price get baptized at the beginning of the year, learn to crawl and walk during Spring and Summer, say her first words, get her first teeth, and celebrate her birthday in August. We saw James grow from a young toddler into a precious little boy- talking all the time, singing to his own made-up songs, loving on his little sister, learning to ride a bicycle, and loving his buddies at school. And we saw Grafton end her time at First Baptist and begin her first "big girl" school this fall; she learned to read this summer, she can do simple addition and subtraction, she is quite a little artist and loves making jewelry, and she has finally gotten into "girly" things! She played soccer for the first time, too and did so well! We found a wonderful church and love our Sunday School class, we have made more precious friends, and we have nourished many old relationships. We feel blessed looking back at this years- the ups and the downs- and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat. We are praying for this upcoming year, and we know that whatever comes our way, the good Lord will guide us through it. We are praying for our children, our families, and our friends....and we know this will be another remarkable year for us all! God bless!
