I could not have asked for a better day- the weather was gorgeous and the farm wasn't as crowded as usual. The kids had so much fun on the hayride and seeing the big tractors, and they ran around collecting pumpkin after pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. They had a pile of 15 or 20 pumpkins before they were done! Then came the pony rides which is always a highlight. This was James' first time on a pony, and he thought it was pretty cool. He just kept staring at the horses walking around in a circle then he would lean over and pet his pony "Lucy." Grafton was excited because she rode "Oreo" who she has ridden the past 2 years and also "Taco" who she rode last year too! After pony rides we visited the petting zoo, watched the pig races, then rode on the choo choo train which of course was the kids' favorite! I am thankful that DeeDee could come with us today- she held Price most of the day and was a lifesaver helping me out! What would we do without her?!
So, another visit to the farm has come and gone, and it was another successful day with the 3 kiddos. I feel so blessed to be able to make special memories with my children and to be able to spend such quality time with them each day. My house may be a disaster zone with clothes that are waiting to be folded and toys that are laying around, I may be late to some appointments or birthday parties or play dates, and I may walk around with spit up on my clothes or pants I have worn 2 days in a row, but those things won't matter years down the road- the time I'm spending with my children WILL matter and the fun memories we are making are what's important right now. I hope I never lose sight of that. Time goes by way too quickly, and I pray that I take advantage of every moment the Lord blesses me with each day. Praise be to God!
